Tree Composites Secures Both the Jury and Audience Awards
Tree Composites has won both the Jury and Audience Awards at the 2024 Offshore Wind Innovators Awards. Their innovative composite connection technology for offshore wind turbine jacket foundations reduces steel consumption by 30-50%, cuts CO₂ emissions, and improves production efficiency. The expert jury described the development as a potential game-changer, and the audience at the Q-Meeting on 12 February 2025 also recognised its value.
A Competitive Year for Offshore Wind Innovation
The 2024 Offshore Wind Innovators Awards attracted fifteen entries, showcasing a wide range of innovations in the offshore wind sector, from ecological enhancements to advanced logistics and energy storage solutions.
The jury shortlisted three finalists:
- Speeder Systems: A high-speed transport solution aiming to reduce maintenance time, risks, and CO₂ emissions in offshore logistics.
- Sensing360: Advanced fibre-optic sensor technology designed to minimise turbine downtime and improve operational reliability.
- Tree Composites: The winner, recognised for their composite connection technology that reduces material use, emissions, and enhances manufacturing efficiency.
A Double Victory for Tree Composites
Tree Composites stood out for their commitment to advancing sustainable offshore wind solutions. Maxim Segeren of Tree Composites, speaking after the ceremony, remarked, “This is the future,” emphasising the transformative potential of their innovation.
