Subsidy for Fieldlab Zephyros project AIRTuB
Top Sector Energy has awarded Fieldlab Zephyros a project subsidy for the smart maintenance innovation project AIRTuB (Automatic Inspection and Repair of Turbine Blades).
World Class Maintenance works together with the Center of Expertise Water & Energy on Fieldlab Zephyros. This initiative unites the Dutch offshore wind sector (industry, education and knowledge institutes) in achieving better offshore wind energy performance. The aim is to develop, test and demonstrate innovations and to develop knowledge and skills. The ambition of Fieldlab Zephyros is to broaden the scope of the fieldlab to include all technologies that are important for the energy transition.
AIRTuB
The awarded project grant are used to achieve the AIRTuB objectives:
- Develop a fully tested prototype of an autonomous UAV, which can detect structural and surface damage and transfer it in the form of data
- Developing models for structural defects and leaf erosion yield impact for asset management and operational decisions
- Develop technology for the automated application of blade coatings
- Software for automatically classifying blade damage and generating automatic repair designs
