Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports

Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports (AYOP) is a dynamic networking organization. It is a powerful promotor and catalyst, taking the offshore stronghold between the ports of IJmuiden and Amsterdam to their next level.

Connecting with over 75 organizations in the North Sea Canal area, to turn their shared ambition and knowledge into inspiring and smart offshore energy solutions. The aim is to be thé region for offshore wind (installation, O&M, repowering and decommissioning) in geographical range of 180 nautical miles in the North Sea.

Next to offshore wind, we build on our strengths in drilling and project support for oil & gas, mobilization, maintenance and repair for work ships, and decommissioning. AYOP members have space and infrastructure available and provide a range of offshore services.

Within the AYOP, we focus on attracting work and investments in offshore wind through the dedicated wind@work 2.0 programme. Within this focus, a new education on vocational level is ready: Wind Technician. This top class will add two years to a finished vocational technical and students will be able to work on land or sea, including the necessary certificates.

With Techport we make sure that innovation in offshore wind maintenance is secured. Next to a Joint Industry Project for 100% predictable industrial maintenance, we setting up its counter part for 100% predictable maintenance for offshore wind.

To make sure that we can keep up with developments in volume and scale, five regional partners (Seaport of IJmuiden, Port of Amsterdam, municipality Velsen, province of North Holland and Tata Steel) are in the process to develop a former depot into a terminal. 16 hectares just 500 meters off the North Sea will deliver the shortest nautical distance to wind farms and other offshore activities.

Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports is supported by all municipalities on the North Sea Canal and the Province of North Holland. Members provide a wealth of services, knowledge and experience in offshore, maritime, logistics on top of the heliport, airport and seaports.
